📋 Task Workflows
How to start, complete, and submit tasks in FieldPro — whether it's an inspection, checklist, audit, walkthrough, or training course.
▶️ Starting a Task
- From the dashboard, find the task card with status New
- Tap Start
- Select the asset or system you're working on:
- Recently Used — assets you've worked on before (available offline)
- Search — type to search all assets by name or serial number (requires internet)
- The task opens to the first section
📝 Filling Out a Task
Each task is organized into sections (groups), and each section contains fields (actions) to complete.
Navigation
- Swipe or tap Next / Previous to move between sections
- The section navigator at the top shows your progress — completed sections get a checkmark
- Tap any section name to jump directly to it
Field Types

| Acceptable / Repair / Replace | Tap the appropriate status |
| Rating | Select a score from 1–10 |
| Recommendation (NPS) | Score 0–10 with Detractor / Passive / Promoter labels |
| Signature | Draw your signature on the canvas |
| Location | Captures your GPS coordinates automatically |
| Photo / Video / Audio | Take a photo, record video, or pick files from your device |
| Reference Image | View a reference photo (tap to expand) |
| Reference Video | Play an instructional video |
| Reference Document | View a PDF or document |
| Instruction Text | Read instructions — no input required |
Toolbar Actions
Each field has a toolbar with quick actions:

| 🚩 Flag | Flag this field for attention — adds a note explaining the issue |
| 💬 Comment | Add a comment or observation |
| 📷 Photo | Attach a photo to this field |
| 🎤 Voice Memo | Record a voice note (auto-transcribed by AI — see Smart Features) |
| ⊘ N/A | Mark this field as not applicable |
Conditional Fields
Some fields only appear based on your previous answers. For example, a "Describe the damage" text field may only show if you selected "Fail" on the previous field.
✅ Completing a Task
- Fill out all required fields in every section
- When the last section is complete, tap Submit
- A final report is automatically generated
- The task moves to the Completed tab on your dashboard
📄 Viewing Reports
Completed tasks have a View Report button that opens the full report:
- Summary with pass/fail status per section
- All field values, photos, and signatures
- Flag indicators and comments
- Download PDF or Share the report directly from your device
🔁 Repeating a Task
Some task types support repeating — starting the same template again on the same asset:
- Open a completed task
- Tap Repeat
- A new instance is created with all fields blank (or pre-filled via Smart Populate)
📋 Audit Mode
Audits work differently from other task types:
- When you start an audit, the system automatically populates all assets belonging to the selected system
- Each asset appears as its own card with pre-filled data (serial number, model, configuration)
- Review the pre-filled values — fields show an "Auto-filled" badge
- If everything is correct, tap Mark as Verified to complete without editing
- If something needs correction, edit the field directly
- Tap + Add New Asset at the bottom if you find an asset that's not in the system
📸 Photos, Video & Files
Upload fields support multiple media types:

| Video | Record video (up to 5 minutes) |
| Gallery | Pick existing photos or videos from your device |
| Audio | Pick audio files from your device |
| Files | Pick any document (PDF, spreadsheet, etc.) |
- Tap a photo to view full-size or annotate it (draw rectangles, circles, arrows, and text)
- Tap a video or audio thumbnail to play it
- Files are uploaded automatically when you're online, or queued for upload when offline
💡 Tips
| Tip | Description |

| Auto-save | Every field is auto-saved as you type — you'll never lose work, even if the app crashes |
| Resume anywhere | Tap Resume on an in-progress card to jump directly to the first incomplete section |
| Flag and move on | Use the 🚩 Flag button to mark issues for follow-up without blocking your progress |
| Voice filling | Enable Voice Copilot to fill forms hands-free |
| Carry forward | Enable Smart Populate to pre-fill from your last visit |
